We’ve been putting food for magpies and ravens and teh gray jay in teh fenced veggie garden, so teh dogs don’t get it. Kitchen leftovers, cheap meat from teh market, whatever we’ve got handy.
Put out frozen turkey necks a cpl days ago.
Got three big coyotes yesterday morning, in broad daylight. They wouldn’t scale teh fence to get in teh garden, but they assiduously scavenged all around teh area, looking for whatever the birds may have carried away and dropped bits of.
Magpies stuck close by teh coyotes, hoping to score leftovers. No luck.
Not wanting to attract top predators, thanks, (ACK!), so gonna have to revamp feeding station and routine. But man, they sure were cool critters to watch… from inside the house.
