Caved, went to Little Yarn Shop yesterday. Admired all teh fabulous $20-and-up per skein alpacas etc, drove down teh street to Walmart, bought teh $3 acrylic
And had wonderful dreams last night, about colors. All sorts of colors. Including teh knock-your-socks-off yellow of teh jacket of that bike-riding guy we happened to pass yesterday morning… just as he was approaching a fire hydrant of teh exact same color.
And speaking of yellow, teh new old ratty eBay primrose-yellow cashmere sweater I’m wearing (best offer of $6.99 actually accepted!), which just arrived yesterday in an exciting box (oh boy! a present!), is exactly teh same shade as the background of this page, which I chose when I switched from that hideous neon green a cpl wks ago.
And I don’t ever wear yellow. Or, I should say, didn’t used to.
P.S. Took a few mins to recall how to cast on, Littlered, haven’t picked up needles in a few yrs. And probably should’ve gone with a lacy crochet to match teh delicacy of teh eyelash yarn insets. But, doggone it, I got *lots* of knittin’ to do before Christmas, so it’s fast ‘n easy garter stitch all teh way

Lookin’ good!
Man, I have no luck with eyelash yarn. I posted my Christmas Chick in the forum and last year I did the hat trim and pompom with white eyelash. I had to trim it so you could see the poor thing’s eyes.
I got smart this year, though…white boucle! No haircut necessary.
Can’t wait to see
Yeah, that stuff is miserable to work with. Had to wait til daylight to see what I was doing, gotta watch every stitch, and energy-saving compact fluorescent light bulb just doesn’t cut it lol.
Just discovered the Webs yarn website. Oh my. Clearance stuff is GREAT. And CHEAP, which is even better
Only trouble is delayed gratification. But had to mail-order 36″ circ needles anyhow, for that Moebius cowl, so I can wait. Will work on crocheted hat in meantime
WEBS rocks, and so does KnitPicks. KP doesn’t sell yarn by brands, but their own brand mimics the LYS stuff in content. Check it out.
But I hear ya…I’m all about instant gratification!
One trick for working with eyelash, though…work it with a strand of WW.
KnitPicks, hm? Why…why…my fingers seem to be typing a google search all on their own…
